Q: What is the dress code?

Definition of Standard School Attire

Acceptable Attire in
all Metro Schools
    A)     Pants, shorts, capri pants, skirts, skorts or jumpers in the colors of navy blue, black, or any shade of khaki.
     B)     Shorts with long or short sleeves and a collar (polo, dress style shirts, or turtleneck), in the solid colors of white or navy blue.
    C)    All shirts should be properly buttoned and tucked inside pants, shorts, skorts, or skkrts.

Acceptable attire in Individual Metro Schools.
    In addition to the districtwide Standard School Attire, individual schools may designate up to four additional solid colors for acceptable styles of shirts.

Implementation details
    Students dress and grooming will be clean and neat.  Clothes and appearance must be safe and not disruptive to the educational process. 

Amqui specific attire: 

Shirts in long or short sleeve:

White, any shade of solid blue, any shade of solid yellow in a polo shirt, dress style shirt, or turtleneck.
Pants:
Pants, shorts, capri pants, skirts, skorts or jumpers in the colors of navy blue, black, or any shade of khaki.

Q: What time does school start and end?
A: School begins promptly at 8:00 A.M. School is over at 3:00 P.M.

Q: How much does lunch cost?
A: Breakfast costs $.85, Lunch for students costs $1.60, Adult lunches cost $3.00, and Adult meals at holidays cost $4.00.

Q: What are the rules for early dismissal and tardies?
A: Children who arrive at school after 8:05 A.M. are considered tardy.

Early Dismissal
Should an emergency arise and it becomes necessary for your child to leave school early, please sign your child out in the office. To ensure your child’s safety, children will not be released to other adults without the written/verbal permission from the parents or legal guardian. We will get him/her for you.

Q: What are our days off?
A: School starts for students with a half day on August 13, 2007.
The days off for students are: 9/3/07, 9/11/07, 10/12/07, 10/15/07, Fall Break from 11/19-11/23/07, and a half day on 12/21/07. Winter Break is from 12/24/07-1/7/08.

Days off for students in the spring of 2008 are 1/21/08, 2/18/08, Spring Break from 3/17/08-3/19/08, 3/24/08, and 4/28/08. The last day of school for students is a half day on May 22, 2008.
