New Principal Named to Amqui Elementary School

Peggy Brodien, a 25-year veteran of MNPS and a 33-year veteran of education, returns to the district after a stint running the Moscow Charter School in Moscow, Idaho. At Moscow Charter School, Brodien was responsible for the school culture, curriculum and instruction, professional development, finances, administration and operations, technology, and managing crisis.

Brodien’s career in education began at Saint Anne Public Elementary School in Illinois in 1977. In 1986, she moved to Nashville and accepted a teaching position at Granbery Elementary. After spending 12 years at Granbery, Brodien moved into administration as assistant principal for Neely’s Bend Elementary (1998-99) and Cole Elementary (19992002) schools. In 2002, she was selected as the principal of Harpeth Valley Elementary School, a post she held for seven years. Brodien is currently working toward a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University. She has a M.Ed. in Administrative Leadership from Governors’ State University, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Olivet Nazarene University.
